The rudder bearings 803 series are made of aluminium 3571 with black hardkote anodization. They are self-aligning and the sliding in on three lines of spherical peek rollers. This kind of rudder bearing is the best choice to fit big carbon rudder shafts. This series is available in the versions for the deck (803P) and for the hull (803S) and both types have a locking flange.
The outside shape is cylindrical Solimar supplies on demand a fibreglass housing 803B that must be laminated to the hull. The bearings must be locked by bolts to the fibreglass housing.(pre-laminated to the hull) In this way the dismantling of the bearing for maintenance or replacement is very easy and quick with no de-lamination of the hull.
In these series the watertight is assured by a neoprene tube (8090L) as long as possible above the DWL. On the top of the tube fixed by a stainless steel clamp there is a ring with gasket. Two stainless steel clamps lock the tube to the body of the bearing and to the watertight ring at the top.
To avoid any vertical movements up and down of the shaft, Solimar supplies the hold rings (8090AR- 8090AS)
Series 803 bearings are available for rudder shaft with diameter from 100mm up 540mm.
